Synopsis:
Under the nurturing of Mt. Guanyin and Danshui River, Danshui not only has abundant natural ecology and cultural history, it is also one of the earliest regions to be developed in Taipei. During the Japanese occupation era, Danshui became silted up and was gradually replaced by Keelung Harbor. As a result, Danshui transformed into a small fishing village, thereafter it progressively became a sightseeing town. Now, simply take the MRT to reach the “Oriental Venice”-Danshui; take a stroll along the old street to visit the curio shops, handicraft shops, snack shops and traditional grocery stores. During weekends, visitors flock to Danshui for delectable snacks such as fish balls, fried fish and Apo Tiedan and Agei etc

Transportation way
■Populace transportation
Public transport: take the MRT Danshui Line to reach the terminal station “Danshui Station”. If you intend to travel to other destinations, please transit through other public transport systems, such as relic sightseeing bus and Danshui Bus etc.

Bus: Danshui Bus, Keelung Bus will drive as far as Keelung, with stops along the various locations on the North Coast.
Bus: Take the Red 26 Lu, No. 836 Lu (Danshui Relic Sightseeing Shuttle Bus) to reach the various scenic spots in Danshui.

■ Voluntarily drives By Car: Taipei Daye Rd. ->Guandu->Zhuwei->continue straight to Zhongzheng East Rd. in Danshui, then follow the road signs to reach the destination. (There are parking lots near the MRT Danshui Station and the old street, however it is advised to take the public transport during the holidays to avoid problems of parking and traffic jam.)
